Meyer Family Vineyards

In traditional French Burgundian style we focus on small case lots of varietals best suited and expressive of their unique place of origin with an emphasis on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We produce about 8,000 cases and strive to produce the finest wines possible. Our wines are hand harvested and hand crafted and we take great pride in each bottle of wine with great attention to detail. We hope that you enjoy our wines as much as we enjoy making them!
OUR PHILOSOPHY
To produce the finest quality wines in the traditions of burgundy, we believe the wines are not made but grown. Each wine reflects the single vineyard of its origin, the soil, the meso-climate, the aspect and the people that hand tend the vines. Hand-harvested and hand-crafted, with great attention to detail and minimal winemaking intervention we take pride in each bottle of wine. Meyer Family Vineyards wines are produced from two main vineyards, the 1.62-hectare “Old Main Road” vineyard on the Naramata Bench and the 6.9-hectare “McLean Creek Road” vineyard in Okanagan Falls. We also work with passionate quality-minded growers in Kaleden and the East Kelowna area to round out our portfolio of terroir-driven wines.
Winemaker Chris Carson brings a wealth of global experience to Meyer Family Vineyards. His philosophy is to care for the grape on the vine and maintain as much as possible a hands-off approach in the cellar to allow the true expression of the terroir.
OUR VINEYARDS
At Meyer Family Vineyards, we follow time tested philosophies, strategies and techniques to produce the finest quality wines. Each wine reflects the single vineyard of it’s origin, the soil, the climate, the slope.

From this Producer
There isn't much that is every day about the Meyer's 'every day' chardonnay because, as is the case with top-flight programs, entry-level wines are pulled along at a higher level than their peers. - Anthony Gismondi.
The style is fleshy with a distinct, barnyard, earthy undercurrent that equalizes the black cherry and absorbs some of the spice and acidity. Ready to drink and would be a hit with duck pizza.
The nose billows with ripe peach fruit, pear, spice and vanilla from French oak. It has sense of fullness but the 2018 acidity runs neatly through to the end. Excellent length.
A deft selection courtesy of winemaker Chris Carson. Drink or hold; both will surprise
From their home site in Okanagan Falls, McLean Creek Road Vineyard lies within the Okanagan Falls sub-geographical indication (sub-Gi) which was designated in 2018 and recognized as being geologically unique in the production of wine grapes. With a predominantly steep southerly aspect, the soil contains alluvial and glacial deposits making up a mix of gravelly and sandy loams.
The wine is made with a hands-off approach allowing the true characteristics of the variety and terroir to shine through. Only 900 cases of this wine were produced. Drink now or allow it to cellar for 7-10 years.
Micro Cuvée is serious stuff, and you sense that from the first taste of. One of the best in the Okanagan Valley.
Our Micro Cuvée Pinot Noir represents the most harmonious blend of selected barrels from our estate vineyard "McLean Creek Road" in Okanagan Falls.

For the 2020 Micro Cuvée, the grapes predominantly came from their block of Pommard Clone 91 with Clone 115 contributing one quarter. Winemaker Chris Carson selected two new French oak 500 litre puncheons from the Tronçais forest along with four one-year-old French oak puncheons from the Tronçais and Vosges forests to make up the Micro Cuvée. In keeping with their philosophy to maintain, as much as possible, a hands-off approach in the cellar to allow the true expression of terroir, this wine is unfined and unfiltered.
Only 300 cases of this wine were produced.
