Tasting notes

Soft aromas of gooseberry, citrus and green grass. This dry white blend has a round mouthfeel with a bit of weight and flavours of white grapefruit, vanilla and wet stones. Crisp acidity keeps it fresh on the palate.

Pairing

This is a highly versatile wine on the table. The textural complexity, medium body and crisp acidity enables Collusion to pair with many dishes. Try with goat cheese and arugula flatbread.

Press
91John Schriener
This is typically a blend of 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Sémillon. Aged in barrels for five months, it is a crisp wine with aromas of lime and lemon. That is echoed on the palate, along with herbal notes that give the wine great complexity.

Vinification

A classic white Bordeaux blend, but this is pure Okanagan in style! Both varietals were hand-harvested early in the morning to preserve the acidity, lightly pressed and fermented separately: barrels for the Semillon and stainless steel for the Sauvignon Blanc. All of the Semillon and a small portion of the Sauvignon Blanc was then aged for 5 months in 2nd fill French oak and neutral American oak barrels.

Producer Description

Inspired artisan wines, hand-crafted in the Heart of Wine Country.

Situated on a bench overlooking Skaha Lake in picturesque Kaleden, BC, Garagistes Rob Hammersley and Michelle Shewchuk are crafting distinctive small-lot wines. In addition to Conviction Ridge Vineyard, their organically farmed estate property, the other vineyards from which they source their grapes are responsibly and sustainably farmed by growers who care as much about quality as they do.

Fueled by passion | Driven by perfection | Unconstrained by Tradition.

For many years while still living in Calgary, Rob and Michelle would travel to the Okanagan in search of the small boutique wines that weren’t available in the Alberta market. Inevitably, they would fill their car with cases and cases of amazing wines…and “smuggle” them back across the border to share with family and friends ("smuggled' since Canada's archaic alcohol laws make it technically illegal to carry wine across provincial boundaries!). They became known as the Wine Black Marketeers, so when they set up their own winery, choosing the name was easy!

Today they are crafting beautiful small batch wines that reflect some of the best varieties of the Okanagan as well as some suprising rarer grapes that make for a distinctive portfolio!
