Tasting notes

The Reserve Meritage has a wonderfully balanced taste of rich, red fruit, plum and oak flavours with solid acidity and a long, smooth finish. Hints of chocolate and spice on the nose make this wine a delicious, well-rounded wine.

Producer Description

Jackson-Triggs is Canada’s most awarded winery. The sheer volume of accolades the estates have gathered over the years has been massive, cleaning up at both national and global competitions. Seemingly every Grand Reserve release has at least one medal attached to it. With both quantity and quality, it’s one of Canada’s best known wineries for a reason.

It was a shared and unrelenting passion that brought colleagues and friends Don Triggs and Allan Jackson together to form Jackson-Triggs in 1993. From the first vintage, these wines fully expressed the potential of Canada's burgeoning wine-growing regions from east to west.

The winery owns two major estates, one in Niagara-on-the-Lake and the other on the edge of the Okanagan Valley, with 200 acres of vinery for its diverse range of wines. The Niagara Estate Winery, established in 2001, is one of the most technologically advanced winemaking facilities in Canada and employs a gravity-flow assisted system of winemaking that eliminates pumping that could potentially harm the young wines.
