Henricsson Deux Hivers Pinot Noir 2016
Deux Hivers is French for Two Winters, which is how long these wines are aged in barrel before being bottled and released.
A small scale, hand-made operation on the Naramata Bench, Henricsson Vineyard produces only 500 cases per year. Using old and even ancient primarily Burgundian winemaking techniques, to produce wines that are bright, energetic and focused, with character and pedigree. Elegant and balanced, with a purity of fruit, and an acidic backbone with finesse and subtlety.

Vinification
This is from 5 clones across 4 organically-farmed blocks, each block fermented and aged separately and then blended. This was 55% whole cluster, fermented with the vineyards' pied de cuve, and then transferred into 500L and 228L French barrels, where it remained for 17 months before a short 2 month stint in steel prior to bottling with a small amount of sulphur.
Producer Description
"The Henricsson Vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs are the best BC iterations I have ever tasted in my 30-year wine career." - Marquis Wine Cellars (Vancouver) owner John Clerides
A small scale, hand-made operation, Henricsson Vineyard produced only about 500 cases per year. Using old and even ancient primarily Burgundian winemaking techniques, they strive to produce wines that are bright, energetic and focused, with character and pedigree. Elegant and balanced, with a purity of fruit, and an acidic backbone with finesse and subtlety.....always using wild yeast for fermentations, as well as absolute minimal sulphur. Their passion is alive and thriving!
The small vineyard is also organically farmed.
