Product description

Solvero’s first Riesling release comes entirely from Happy Valley Vineyard on the Summerland Bench. Clone 21B was picked on September 24 at a yield of 1 ton per acre, balancing developed flavours with natural acidity.

Winemaking: Whole bunches were pressed into stainless steel. A selected yeast highlighted Riesling’s aromatics during a two-month fermentation below 12°C. The wine stayed on its lees in tank until bottling in February. Alcohol: 12.8%.

Producer Description

Solvero began with a family conversation over cool-climate Pinot Noir in 2012 and a search for a distinctive Okanagan vineyard site. The family found a 25-acre property in Garnet Valley, Summerland, planting seven Pinot Noir clones in five blocks in 2016, Chardonnay in 2017 and Gamay in 2023. Steep slopes and varied glacial soils shape the estate. Farming follows la lutte raisonnée, with careful intervention and biodiversity supported by woodland, fruit trees, vegetables, chickens and ducks. Solvero means “truth in soil”.
