Vintage Notes
This wine is based on 2021, the year of the heat dome, Cabernet Franc. The scorching temperatures resulted in very ripe grapes, very quickly. In order to balance the intense Cabernet Franc grapes, we blended some crisp and racy 2019 Riesling from our Mulberry Tree Vineyard in order to add some freshness and zip to the bold Cab Franc. This resulted in a richer style Rosé with just a hint of residual sugar left. The Cab Franc saw between 3-7 hours skin contact before gentle pressing. The wines both went through a wild ferment and aged on the lees for 8 months. A light filtration was performed prior to bottling

Little Farm Winery is the small hands-on operation of Rhys Pender MW and Alishan Driediger. It started with a passion for wine and developed into growing and producing Chardonnay and Riesling from our Mulberry Tree Vineyard at our home in Cawston. Our goal is to make wines with minimal manipulation and intervention and to really capture the growing season.
Little Farm Winery will never be big and will always focus on making small batches of single-vineyard wine that reflect each site´s unique characteristics. Our goal is to make interesting, characterful, natural-ish wines and look after our little farm.
